Give Burns the Boot
Saturday, October 6th, 2007 we're collecting donations for Give Burns the Boot. Our volunteer fire fighters will be located at the corner of Highway 2 and Highway 41 in Newport at Safeway.

Commissioners recently approved the district to purchase shirts and badges for all of its volunteers. These items were presented at a ceremony which was held on April 9th, 2007, with numerous residents of the Spring Valley area in attendance.

Pend Oreille County Fire District 8 is located at the south end of the county along the Washington-Idaho border ending at the Spokane County line.
Fire District 8 is made up entirely of volunteer fire fighters
— 10 men and 10 women. Other volunteers, who live in the district,
prepare food and beverages to fire fighters envolved in incidents. Still
others help by giving donations. Together we make a great

Reflective Address Signs AvailableIn an emergency, minutes lost looking for an address can mean the difference between life and death, a home saved or a home lost. Fire fighters in Pend Oreille Fire District 8 are offering highly reflective, red and white address signs to increase visibility for emergency services. Signs are $10.00 each which includes brackets and lag bolts for mounting. Call the Fire Chief at 447-0147 to order yours or to learn more.
